On June 8, 2021, Zhu Jun, President of Beijing Energy International Holdings Co., Ltd., and his Colleagues went to Jilin to visit Cui Yanlei, Secretary of the Party Committee of Taonan, Baicheng, Jilin. The two sides reached a consensus on the comprehensive and in-depth strategic cooperation between Beijing Energy International and Taonan City, and exchanged views on the establishment of Three Gorges of Onshore Wind Power Taonan Base and the promotion of transmitting Jilin’s electricity to Beijing. The meeting was also attended by Taonan City’s deputy mayor Li Feijun, Director of the Development and Reform Bureau Zhang Wenju, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee of the Economic Development Zone Wang Yinglin, Director of the Energy Industry Development Center Liu Guohua, Investment Director Zhao Li of Beijing Energy International, Chairman Yan Qibin and General Manager Wu Yiliang of Zhonglineng New Energy Co., Ltd.

At the meeting, Zhu Jun introduced the development and operation as well as the main business of Beijing Energy International. He said that Beijing Energy International will give full play to the advantages as a company in Beijing in receiving and consuming electricity transmitted from Jilin, the strengths in providing comprehensive solutions for clean energy, investment advantages from foreign-invested enterprises, and industrial supporting expertise to actively participate in Taonan’s investment and construction of the wind and solar clean energy base with the capacity of tens of millions of kilowatts, accelerate the transition towards clean and low-carbon energy, and contributes to the early realization of the goal of emission peak and carbon neutrality of Jilin Province.

Cui Yanlei extended a warm welcome to Zhu Jun. He said that after the 3060 goal was put forward, Taonan City has seized the historical development opportunity of Jilin Province’s efforts to build the “Three Gorges of Onshore Wind Power” and is speeding up its plan to build a wind and solar power clean energy base. Beijing Energy International, as a pilot company for mixed ownership reform of state-owned enterprises of Beijing Energy, enjoys leading expertise and flexible mechanism. It is very compatible with Taonan’s efforts to speed up the city's “green and zero-carbon" development. He expressed his hope that both sides will work together and make concerted efforts for a win-win situation. He emphasized that the two sides should specify the comprehensive and profound strategic cooperative relationship, and demanded that a special task force be established immediately to communicate with Beijing Energy International over the cooperation details, formulate meeting minutes, and earnestly implement the goal of “emission peak and carbon neutrality”, so as to help accelerate the economic and social development of Taonan City.

Subsequently, the participants made preliminary plans and conducted exchanges on the details of their cooperation.
