On May 6, 2023, Liu Guoxi, party secretary of Beijing Energy International visited Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as “Aba Prefecture”), Sichuan Province, and met with Liu Ping, deputy director of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress and party secretary of Aba Prefecture Committee, and Luo Zhenhua, deputy party secretary of Aba Prefecture Committee and governor. The two sides exchanged on cooperation in new energy.
During the meeting, Luo Zhenhua introduced the natural resources and local development planning of Aba Prefecture. He said that the prefecture enjoys a favorable resource advantage and a broad market for clean energy. In the context of national dual carbon strategy, the prefecture attaches great importance to the development of new energy and hopes to carry out cooperation with Beijing Energy International in new energy projects such as photovoltaics, hydropower, hydrogen and agrophotovotalics, so as to promote local ecological construction, rural revitalization and economic development for win-win outcome.
Liu Ping welcomed Liu Guoxi and his delegation. He said that the prefecture welcomes the company to invest in, and the two sides have extensive space for cooperation. He hopes to promote localized, large-scale, market-oriented and intensive comprehensive cooperation in areas such as hybridized solar power and hydro power, rural revitalization, urban infrastructure improvement and cultural tourism, and sign strategic cooperation agreements. The prefecture will provide all-round policy support and service guarantee, complement each other’s advantages for common development, so as to contribute to green and low-carbon development of the energy sector.
Liu Guoxi said that as a pilot SOE for mixed-ownership reform of Beijing, the company has a flexible and efficient mechanism and a strong development momentum. It has rich experience and remarkable advantages in the development of energy projects in places with similar conditions as Aba Prefecture. The company attaches great importance to cooperation with the government of the prefecture and will fully leverage its own advantages in the light of local development needs and energy structure characteristics, deepen cooperation, promote the landing of projects to deliver socioeconomic benefits, and contribute to the early realization of local dual carbon goal.
