On December 1, 2023, Beijing Energy International won the construction contract of the 100MW photovoltaic project in Hunian, Pinglu District, Shuozhou, Shanxi Province. This marks yet another major achievement of the company after it won the construction contract in Xinzhou of Shanxi this year.

The project has a total installed capacity of 100MW. The project site is located in loess hills, with low forest coverage rate and severe soil erosion and surface cutting. The construction of this project will effectively tackle soil erosion and improve local ecology in the area. Pinglu District is rich in solar resources and is uniquely positioned for photovoltaic power generation. After putting into production, it is estimated to produce 150 million kWh of clean and green electricity every year, equivalent to saving about 45,000 tons of standard coal and reducing about 124,000 tons of carbon dioxide, which will optimize local energy structure and economic development, and contribute to the early realization of the dual carbon goals in Shanxi.
