At 8: 08 of December 22, 2023, the first tank of concrete was smoothly poured in the main plant of the Yangxi natural gas cogeneration integrated energy project (phase I 2×120MW) in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province, marking the beginning of the engineering construction stage in an all-round way and laid a solid foundation for the project to commence its operation with high standard.

This project is Beijing Energy International’s first integrated smart energy project of combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) in a large park and is a key project in Guangdong Province. The project covers an area of 160 mu (around 10.656 hectares) and will build a 3×120MW gas-steam combined cycle cogeneration unit, distributed photovoltaic, energy storage, pumped storage and other eco-friendly integrated energy projects, supporting the construction of heating network pipelines and dedicated gas lines. The first phase is to build a 2×120MW gas-steam combined cycle cogeneration unit, which is scheduled to be put into operation in May 2025. After it becomes operational, the annual power supply is about 1.126 billion kWh, and the annual heat supply is about 2.544 million GJ, which will effectively address the heating demand and relieve the pressure of emission reduction in the park, optimize load shifting of gas and electricity, provide strong impetus for the development of the park and local economy, and contribute to the early realization of the dual carbon goals in Guangdong.
