Panda Green to build UN SDG power plant
Time:2017-11-09

(Bonn, Germany) Nov 9, 2017, Panda Green Energy Group accepted the authorization of the United Nations (UN) and designed a customized Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) power plant. The special plan launched at the UN Climate Change Conference in Bonn, as a firm gesture to support the UN 2030 sustainable goals in full swing. Furthermore, Panda Green Energy Group entered the strategic cooperation with World Wildlife Fund Beijing Office (WWF China) as well as Shenzhen One Planet Foundation, marking the partnership of promoting the use of renewable energy.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was a hard-earned result achieved by 193 UN member states at 2015 United Nations Sustainable Development Summit. The agenda, with profound influence, laid the basis of 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 targets, aiming to mobilize global efforts to end poverty, foster peace, safeguard the rights and dignity of all people, and protect the planet.

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres commented modern energy services were integral to poverty reduction, food security, public health and quality education for all. They were the key to sustainable industrialization, healthier more efficient cities and – of course – successful climate action.

In the past five years, China has committed to leading international cooperation in coping with climate change and becoming an important participant, contributor and bellwether regarding global ecological civilization construction. Panda Green Energy Group has played a proactive and constructive role in combating global climate change and successfully launched the very first panda-shaped power plant in the world, a very original idea leveraging the image of China’s treasure – the giant panda. The group will continually make our footprint to respond the call for ecological civilization construction.

Being a vital member of Chinese government delegation, Panda Green Energy Group was glad to introduce and present Panda Power Plant project at this high-level conference on global climate governance. This time, the cooperation with the United Nations—100 MW SDG power plant covering 133 hectares, further demonstrates Panda Power Plant’s determination on combating climate changes.

Panda Green Energy Group will join hands with more best-in-class institutions such as WWF and the Shenzhen-based One Planet Foundation so as to build Panda Power Plants as the role model in combating global climate change in the new era.

Panda Power Plant has created butterfly effects. As of today, media from more than 20 countries covered Datong Power Plant with depth and width. With more than 40,000 online news and retweets, Datong Panda Power Plant is leading the global momentum towards green action. As to the earth-saving actions concerning the common destiny of mankind, Panda Green Energy Group will continue to play the leading role with greater contribution via more innovative approaches.

The capacity of this SDG power plant is 100MW, covering an area of approximately 200 hectares.
