On May 16, the leader of the State Council met with Bainimarama at the Great Hall of the People. Regarding climate change issues, China always holds a responsible attitude towards dealing with climate change and implementing the Paris Agreement on climate change with the international society. This is not only China’s obligation as a responsible developing country but an inevitable path for China to transform and update its economy.
During the conversation with Su Huaisheng, Bainimarama said as the Paradise-on-Earth, and the host of the 23rd session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 23) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Fiji is willing to speed up the green ecological development and energy structure adjustment. Therefore, investment in Fiji from excellent companies such as Panda Green Energy would be more than welcome. Panda Green Energy’s joining enables Fiji with the access to cleaner and greener energy, thus becoming the model of coping with climate change. Bainimarama hoped that Panda Power Plan, as a signature project, will land in Fiji soon to demonstrate Fiji’s determination in dealing with climate change.
