On December 22, 2021, Beijing Energy International’s 100MW agricultural solar lighting project held a groundbreaking ceremony at the project construction site in Chengnan New District, Gaoyou City, Jiangsu Province. Xu Yongbao, chairman of Gaoyou CPPCC, Wang Xuefeng, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee, executive vice mayor, Wang Yonghai, deputy mayor, and the heads of Gaoyou Municipal Party Committee Office, Municipal Government Office, Development and Reform Commission, Commerce Bureau, Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, Agriculture and Rural Bureau, Ecological Environment Bureau and Power Supply Company; Zhang Ping, chairman of the Board of Directors of Beijing Energy International, Jia Geng, vice president, Zhao Li, director of investment, Du Wenyuan, general manager of East China Branch and other relevant personnel attended the ceremony.

During the ceremony, Zhang Ping and Wang Xuefeng delivered speeches successively, and Xu Yongbao announced the commencement of the project.

The project is the first one independently developed by Beijing Energy International in Jiangsu, which adopts the agrophotovoltaic complementary mode and is listed as a new energy science and education demonstration base in Gaoyou. After the completion of the project, it will play a positive role in promoting the comprehensive development and utilization of local resources, create economic and social benefits, and help the province to achieve the dual carbon goal as soon as possible.
