At 22:05 on December 31, 2021, the 50MW agricultural solar lighting project of Beijing Energy International was connected to grid with its full power generation capacity in Zhucheng, Shandong Province. This is the first grid-connected ground centralized PV project independently invested and built by the company.

The project is located in Zhucheng, Weifang City, Shandong Province, covering an area of around 215 acres, with a total installed capacity of 50MW and an average annual power generation of about 66.04 million kWh. It is estimated to have saved nearly 8,100 tons of standard coal and avoided about 58,600 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Additionally, the project can generate electricity and boost crop productivity, which is an intensive and three-dimensional utilization of green energy and land resources and can deliver economic and social benefits.

Since the project kicked off on June 20, 2021, it has been suspended for nearly two months due to Covid-19. By optimizing construction scheme, re-adjusting supply and demand, and improving on-site control, people on the ground overcame multiple challenges such as price hike of materials and equipment, delayed goods and equipment, and changes with access site selection and scheme, and eventually the project was able to reach its full capacity and get connected to power grid by the year end.

In 2021, the company has won 282MW photovoltaic power generation contract in Shandong which has been a key area. Followed by Zhucheng project, other projects will be connected to grid in succession. In 2022, the company will intensify its efforts in project development and expansion in Shandong, strive to build GW-level project clusters, and bolster clean and low-carbon transformation of local energy and enable the province to reach its dual carbon goal at an early date.
