On March 14, 2022, Beijing Energy International signed an agreement with the government of Xundian Hui and Yi Autonomous County, Kunming, Yunnan Province on the development and construction of distributed and centralized agricultural solar lighting projects. The planned construction in the distributed photovoltaic projects stands at a scale of 60MW and that of centralized agricultural solar lighting projects at 90MW, with an estimated total investment of about 750 million yuan.

After the completion of the projects, it can turn regional resource into economic advantages, promote local new energy sector as well as the transformation and upgrading of energy structure, unleash new vitality of rural collective economy, and enable the province to achieve its objectives of electric power energy, dual carbon and rural revitalization strategies during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Xundian County, located in the suburban area of Kunming, owns abundant solar and wind resources, developed infrastructure, convenient transportation, complete power grid, mature industry and commerce, considerable power consumption and transmission capacity, outstanding regional advantages and ideal conditions for developing and constructing new energy projects.
