BJ ENERGY INTL Signed an Investment Cooperation Agreement with Rongcheng Municipal Government on Shared Energy Storage Power Station Project

On June 24, 2022, Beijing Energy International was invited to attend the Rongcheng Nuclear Power Equipment and New Energy Industry Promotion Conference and signed an investment agreement with Rongcheng Municipal Government for a 200MW/400MWh shared energy storage power station project. Jia Geng, Vice President of Beijing Energy International, Li Xijun, General Manager of Beijing Jingneng International Integrated Smart Energy Company, and other related personnel attended the meeting and signing ceremony via the video link.

During the event, Jia Geng delivered a keynote speech entitled “Analysis of the Present Situation and Development Prospect of Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Industry”. He pointed out that the rapid development of new energy not only brings new opportunities for power transformation, but also presents severe challenges to the stable operation of China’s power system. New energy storage technology emerges at the right time, and it has become the best solution to ensure stability and security of power system. Rongcheng city has a long coastline with massive marine area, abundant bays, convenient transportation, full-fledged infrastructure and rich resources such as land, tailings, rooftops, solar energy and ocean resources. Beijing Energy International will continue to give full play to its professional and technical strengths, actively invest in the clean energy construction in the city and boost the development and implementation of new energy projects.

According to the agreement, both parties will maximize their respective advantages and actively foster a cooperative development mechanism. Beijing Energy International will invest in the construction of a lithium battery energy storage power station with an area of 30 mu (around 20,000 sq.m.) and an installed capacity of 200MW/400MWh in Yujiazhuang, Tengjia Town, Rongcheng City, with a planned total investment of about 880 million yuan. At present, the project has completed the registration procedure and is going through the power grid access procedure.

After the project is completed, it will further transform and upgrade local energy structure, optimize and adjust regional economic structure as well as the integration and development of local industries. The shared energy storage power station is the first of its kind invested and constructed by the company. The successful registration of the project marks a major breakthrough in the energy storage of the company, which is of great significance for enriching its industrial structure and building a green, multi-functional, complementary, smart and clean energy industry ecosystem.
