On July 4, 2022, Lai Xianyu, member of the Party Committee and deputy director general of Beijing municipal Commission of Development and Reform, and Zhao Yanfeng, party secretary and director general of Jilin provincial Energy Bureau, and their delegations visited Beijing Energy International. The three sides had an exchange on the implementation of the plan of “transmitting Jilin’s electricity to Beijing” and the key priorities in delivering the plan. Zhang Wangcai, director of the Energy Department of Beijing Development and Reform Commission, and Chen Yongshen, deputy director of the Energy Department; Liu Xuefeng, party member and deputy director of Jilin Energy Bureau, and Yang Weizhong, head of electric power department; Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beijing Energy International, Jia Geng, Vice President, Zhao Li, Investment Director, He Kun, General Manager of Northeast Branch and other relevant personnel attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Zhang Ping welcomed Lai Xianyu and Zhao Yanfeng. He said that Beijing Energy International continued to implement the plan of “transmitting Jilin’s electricity to Beijing”, fully explored the construction needs of new energy projects in various regions of Jilin Province, and thoroughly studied the feasibility of supportive projects such as pumped storage, hydrogen production from green electricity, and shared energy storage. Going forward, the company will cooperate with Beijing Energy Holding to capitalize on industrial synergy and geographical strengths, actively participate in new energy investment in the Province, and boost the development of new energy industries in Beijing and Jilin.
Zhao Yanfeng affirmed the efforts made by the company in coordinating and promoting the plan of “transmitting Jilin’s electricity to Beijing”. He said that the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government set store by this key project. Going forward, the provincial Energy Bureau will make its best to communicate and coordinate with the Beijing Development and Reform Commission. Taking this key project as an opportunity, they will strengthen in-depth cooperation in new energy between the two places, seek common development, and contribute to the early realization of the dual carbon goals.
Lai Xianyu said that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, Beijing has continued to optimize its energy structure and greatly increase the share of green electricity. This key project is of great significance for ensuring the safe and stable supply of energy in the capital city and promoting the green, low-carbon, smart transformation of local energy development. Beijing Development and Reform Commission attaches great importance to the project and will further strengthen cooperation on implementing the dual carbon targets of the two places, actively promote energy transformation and upgrading, and facilitate national green and low-carbon energy development.
