On September 7, 2022, Beijing Energy International signed an integrated smart energy cooperation agreement with the Government of Jingzhuang Township, Yanqing District, Beijing. This is another milestone of the company to focus on building a “Green Beijing”, continuously increase its investment in Beijing and help the capital city transform and develop green and low carbon energy.
According to the agreement, the two sides will actively create a cooperative development mechanism, which will be mainly led by the company through integrating sci-tech-based agriculture, eco-tourism and smart energy, using about 500 mu (333,000 sqm) of land in the area, and adopting renewable energy systems such as photovoltaic and photothermal resources, air source and ground source heat pump as energy supply facilities to invest, build and operate smart agricultural facilities projects. It will also use public buildings in the area to build rooftop distributed photovoltaic projects.
After the completion of the project, it will further promote the transformation and upgrading of energy structure in the town, promote regional economic development, and help Beijing achieve its two major strategic goals, namely the dual carbon goals and the rural revitalization strategy at an early date.
