A whole new and exciting year is approaching. On the occasion of bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new, on behalf of the Board of Directors and Management of Beijing Energy International, I would like to extend my sincerest greetings and heartfelt appreciation to the leaders and friends who have always supported the development of our company, and to all employees and your families. Build resilience and overcome challenges on the long and arduous journey
New times pose new challenges and new tests for us. In 2022, in the face of the overlapping of profound changes unseen in a century and the resurgence of Covid-19 pandemic, Beijing Energy International took “deepening reform, innovative development, lean management, higher quality and efficiency” as the main guideline, and forged ahead in expanding market, consolidating and upscaling the development of clean energy, optimizing the industrial structure, accelerating the development of integrated energy, strengthening equity financing, accelerating the resolution of difficulties and focusing on the guiding role and achievements of sci-tech. All staff shouldered the enormous responsibility in seeking common development with hard work towards the result-oriented achievements and delivered uplifting and inspiring performance.
This is the year of perseverance. We focused on the 14th Five-Year Plan by adhering to the independent development direction, clearly set the development path of “strengthening resource reserves by integrating reserve bases and seeking domestic and international expansion” to foster the “One Center, Two Loop lines and One Focus” and redoubled our efforts in building a model of mixed-ownership reform of SOEs. The company’s high-quality and rapid development momentum has always been strong, and its total holding installed capacity and equity installed capacity has exceeded 12.7GW. “Boundless is the ocean where we sail with the wind.” This year, we strengthened our resolve, anchored in our goals and made significant strides. Everyone fully dedicated to our mission with concrete actions and drew a new blueprint for the high-quality development of the company.
This is the year of pursuing great development by going through trials and tribulations. We continued seizing the opportunity of developing the main business. The Xilingol 10GW and Jilin 5GW Base Projects of “Green Power to Beijing” delivered initial results, the Tongliao 2.38GW Wind Power Project in Inner Mongolia was approved, the total reserves of large-scale base projects in the Northeast, North and Northwest areas exceeded 20GW and the self-declared scale of GW-class cluster projects in Southeast coastal areas exceeded 4GW. The company continuously enriched the ecological layout of the industry. Eight projects, including the Mutianyu 69.6MW photovoltaic project in mining area was registered for record-keeping; the Yangxi CCHP Project was approved and three shared energy storage projects of 500MW/1000MWh were registered for record-keeping. The company steadily promoted overseas business, focusing on Australia, Vietnam and other countries and regions. The overseas holding installed capacity reached 644MW and the installed capacity of reserve projects reached 1.6 GW. We are very proud of the encouraging and exciting record-high achievements. This year, we forged ahead in vigorousness, resoluteness and solidarity and wrote a wonderful chapter with toil and sweat.
This is the year of improved management with multiple effective measures taken. We relocated to a new office building, improved management in an all-round way and elevated production and operation to a new level. We strengthened equity financing and was assigned with ‘A’ in the international credit rating. We optimized the asset structure to help the healthy development of the company, continued to deepen reform and stimulate the vitality, improved the cost-effectiveness and enhanced our brand value and creditability in the capital market. Success always comes with dedication and hard work. This year, we stayed true to our lofty aspirations and clear-cut goals with hard efforts. Everyone worked with full dedication and great sense of responsibility in achieving innovation and development in the new era.
This is the year of hard work. Together with our partners and employees, we have achieved fruitful results and gained full confidence. You have braved wind and rain, day and night, with remarkable endurance and dedication, be it in office buildings or in power stations. Chase the wind and the Sun and deliver green and sustainable development
The year 2023 is the year for China to further promote the energy revolution, accelerate the planning and construction of a new energy system, and unswervingly promote the green and low-carbon development of energy. The new era comes with new missions and new responsibilities, which also means the opportunity of new achievements. In the new era of energy, the competition is like a boat race, those who row the hardest will eventually win. With a firm belief, we stay true to our original missions, and more importantly, we must work even harder to make greater progress. On the grand journey of effectively implementing alternative renewable energy actions and continuously expanding clean energy supply, we will work more diligently and steadfastly.
In the new year, the company will take value creation as the foundation, take market value maintenance as the core, continue to focus on the “14th Five-Year Plan”, the guiding role of sci-tech and digital transformation, intensify the development of large-scale base projects, speed up the layout of integrated energy and energy storage business, strengthen the technical support capability, actively cultivate industrial eco-system, intensify equity financing, continuously improve comprehensive management, maintain the high-quality and rapid development momentum and strive to build itself into a first-class international clean energy provider, green investor and operator!
Consistency and going the extra mile will give us the edge over others because in the long run hard works always pays off. Facing the opportunities and challenges of 2023, let’s continue to stay focused, determined and united, and transform the solar and wind power into the brilliant light and warmth of Spring.
