On July 11, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony of the 96MW (60MW for Phase I) Yancongshan distributed photovoltaic project of XUANSTEEL in Xuanhua District, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province was held. Zhang Cong, party secretary of Xuanhua District Party Committee, attended the event and announced the commencement of the project. Gao Wenyang, deputy chief of Xuanhua District, Wang Hongbin, chairman of HBIS XUANSTEEL, and Zhang Ping, chairman of the Board of Directors of Beijing Energy International attended the commencement ceremony and delivered speeches.
This project is the first ground photovoltaic project jointly developed and constructed by the two companies. The first phase of the project has a total installed capacity of 60MW. After its completion, it is estimated to produce about 90 million kWh of clean and green electricity per year, equivalent to saving about 36,000 tons of standard coal and reducing about 89,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions, which will promote regional economic development.
After the groundbreaking ceremony, the two sides exchanged on in-depth cooperation in new energy and hydrogen production from green electricity. It is agreed that their development concepts are highly aligned and there is enormous space for cooperation. In the future, they will use their complementary advantages for common development in strengthening communication, improving existing cooperative projects, and deepening cooperation on new energy development and hydrogen production from green electricity, etc.
