On October 30, 2023, the first unit of the 100MW agrophotovoltaic demonstration project in Tanmen Town, Qionghai City, Hainan Province, was smoothly connected to grid for power generation (including 25MW/50MWh for energy storage), and the project is planned to be connected to power grid with full capacity before the end of 2023. It is the first on-grid ground centralized photovoltaic project of Beijing Energy International in Hainan Province, marking a breakthrough of photovoltaic project development of the company in the province! 

With a planned capacity of 100MW, the project is a key one in Hainan between 2021 and 2023. It is a standard agrophotovoltaic demonstration project with noticeable social, environmental and economic benefits. After putting into operation, it can produce about 140 million kWh of clean and green electricity every year, equivalent to saving 41,400 tons of standard coal and reducing about 134,700 tons of carbon dioxide emissions every year. At the same time, the project also builds a simple greenhouse to grow vegetables, which can provide a variety of high-quality green leafy vegetables to local people for the common development of local government and enterprises, and thus creating a new path for photovoltaic enterprises to increase income, promote local low-carbon transformation, and contribute to the construction of a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient modern energy system in the province.
