On December 8, 2023, Beijing Energy International’s Weichai Torch 3MW rooftop distributed photovoltaic project in Shifeng District, Zhuzhou, Hunan was connected to power grid. This project is the first on-grid distributed photovoltaic project of the company in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. It will strongly underpin the green and low-carbon transformation and development of local energy sector.
The project is located in three factories of Weichai Torch Technology Co., Ltd. in Shifeng District and Lukou District, Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province, with an installed capacity of 3MW, and can supply electricity for its self-use, with the surplus connecting to the grid. The main products of Weichai Torch are spark plugs for automobile engines, with an annual output value of about 1.5 billion yuan, ranking first in the country and third in the world, and the demand for green electricity for internationally marketed products is large. The smart operation and maintenance system is applied in the project, and the unattended operation is achieved through remote centralized control. By adopting system integration optimization and information sharing, the unified access, storage and management of comprehensive information such as power station operation parameters, equipment working status and security video are realized, and it has the functions of power station operation monitoring, operation and control, comprehensive analysis and smart alarm, operation management and auxiliary application.
After the project is launched into operation, it is estimated to generate about 2.77 million kWh of green electricity annually, equivalent to saving about 879.14 tons of standard coal and reducing about 2312.72 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. It will facilitate Weichai Torch to realize green production and explore the international market and will further help the city in its green energy transformation and sustainable development.
