On November 9, the 17th China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Forum was held in Tokyo, Japan. The event was jointly hosted by China’s National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Commerce, along with Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Japan-China Economic Association. Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Board of Beijing Energy International, attended the forum on behalf of the company.
During the main forum, the company signed the Framework Agreement on International Green Energy Supply Cooperation with ORIX (China) Corporation. Under the agreement, the two parties will leverage their respective strengths to collaborate deeply in areas such as domestic and international clean energy development, green hydrogen, green ammonia, and green methanol. The partnership aims to establish a win-win, sustainable strategic relationship.
The forum is a comprehensive platform approved by the State Council of China. Since its inception in 2006, the forum has been successfully held 17 times, with a cumulative total of 457 cooperation projects signed. It has become a crucial platform for cooperation between China and Japan in energy conservation, environmental protection, and green development. This year’s forum gathered over 800 representatives from government departments, enterprises, institutions, and associations in both countries, who also witnessed the signing ceremonies.
