Beijing Energy International has stepped up its efforts in new energy contracts in 2021, and successively won 600MW new energy project contracts in Shanxi, Inner Mongolia and Guangxi and progress has been made in the initial phase of project development.
There are 6 projects in this batch of contracts, including Lingshi 100MW optical storage project in Jinzhong, Yungang 100MW optical storage project and Jixian 100MW wind power project in Linfen of Shanxi, Damaoqi 100MW photovoltaic project and Hohhot 50MW photovoltaic project in Inner Mongolia, Pingguo 150MW agrophotovotaic project in Baise of Guangxi. These projects include both agrophotovotaic projects and mine-related ecological management projects, which can deliver evident social, environmental and economic benefits. At the same time, by configuring a new energy storage system, coordinated and optimized operation is realized, so that the projects can ensure efficient consumption and utilization of new energy, and provide capacity support and peak shaving functions for the power system.
When these projects become up and running, it is estimated that it can produce about 900 million kWh of clean and green electricity every year, saving 268,800 tons of standard coal for the country, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 797,600 tons and sulfur dioxide emissions by 24,000 tons.
2021 marks the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period of China. Beijing Energy International will work hard to achieve national goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality and align with its strategy of “prioritizing main business and expanding across the country”, with high-quality development as the core, accelerate the scale and intensive development of new energy, and actively build a green, multi-functional, smart and coordinated clean energy industry ecosystem. Building on these projects, the company will further its market development efforts, attain its goals for 2021 and serve the national energy development strategy of energy transition from high-emission power to green power and from fossil fuel to clean energy.
