On February 1, the 100MW agrophotovoltaic project in Hongcheng, Yongdeng District, Lanzhou, Gansu Province, was connected to the grid for power generation. This is an important project of Beijing Energy International in response to the call of Gansu to build itself into a strong, green energy province through actively participating in the new energy investment and construction in Lanzhou during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. The on-grid power generation of the project provided strong support for the high-quality development of the new energy industry in the province.
The project is located on the west side of Xingou Village, Kushui Town, Yongdeng County, Lanzhou City, and plans to build a 100MW photovoltaic and 15MW/60MWh energy storage project. The project integrates agriculture and PV power generation to adapt to local reality. Through planting alfalfa, which is known as the “king of forage grass”, the project can improve forage yield, and aims to increase agricultural income as the core in pursuit of common development for local people and enterprises with economic and ecological benefits. After it is launched into operation, it is estimated to generate about 188.672 million kWh of clean and green electricity every year, equivalent to saving about 55,700 tons of standard coal and reducing about 145,600 tons of carbon dioxide, which will underpin the transformation of local energy structure and contribute to the early realization of the dual carbon goal in Lanzhou.
