On March 20, the Zhaxigang Wind Power Project in Sajia County, Rikaze, Xizang, undertaken by Beijing Energy International, smoothly commenced construction. Located in Zhaxigang, Sajia Town, Sajia County, Rikaze, Xizang, at an average altitude of 4,600 meters, this project is the company’s first ultra-high-altitude wind power project under construction, marking a breakthrough in its independent development of high-altitude wind power projects.
Covering an area of 17 mu (around 1.12 hectares), the project has an installed capacity of 50 megawatts, consisting of 13 wind turbines with a single unit capacity of 4 megawatts each. Once operational, the project is expected to produce approximately 120 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity annually, saving 36,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 99,000 tons per year. The commencement of construction of the high-altitude wind power project will not only help alleviate local energy pressure and reduce dependence on traditional energy sources but also promote the innovation and application of clean energy technologies, furthering the green development of Xizang.
