BJ ENERGY INTL’s Self-Developed “Intelligent and Efficient Cleaning Robot for Photovoltaic Modules” Won International Gold Medal
Time:2024-08-01

On July 28, the “Intelligent and Efficient Cleaning Robot for Photovoltaic Modules” independently developed by Beijing Energy International, a subsidiary of Beijing Energy Holding (BEH), won the gold medal at the 2024 Silicon Valley International Inventions Festival (SVIIF) in the United States and was showcased for the first time at the International Inventions Exhibition.

The SVIIF is co-hosted by the International Federation of Inventors’ Associations (IFIA) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). Invited by the China Association of Inventions, BEH participated in the competition with its self-developed “Intelligent and Efficient Cleaning Robot for Photovoltaic Modules.” After rigorous evaluations by several expert judges, the invention stood out among entries from research institutions, academic organizations, and enterprise representatives from about 30 countries or regions worldwide, ultimately winning the gold medal.

This honor not only demonstrates BEH’s technological innovation achievements in transitioning towards intelligence and smart technologies in the new energy sector but also showcases BEH’s relentless pursuit of new productivity in the clean energy field.

Addressing the issues of efficiency and quality in intelligent cleaning of photovoltaic modules, Beijing Energy International utilized 3D modeling software for model establishment and feasibility analysis. They innovatively developed multiple technologies, including shaftless high-speed exhaust dust suction, photovoltaic module surface cleanliness monitoring, surface static electricity elimination, and intelligent cleaning planning.

The project employs intelligent methods such as machine learning and machine recognition to achieve functions like 5G network remote group control, operational status monitoring, trajectory correction, and intelligent autonomous cleaning planning without external power supply. It resolves the persistent problems of incomplete traditional cleaning methods and the inability to clean and wash photovoltaic modules array in low-temperature conditions and complex terrains. The robot boasts capabilities for small-scale snow removal, long endurance, and large-area cleaning, with a cleaning distance of about 1,000 meters and an efficiency of over 96%. It effectively addresses issues such as module heating caused by bird droppings and dust accumulation, thereby extending the service life of photovoltaic modules.

On the evening of July 29, local time in San Francisco, Chinese Consul General in San Francisco Zhang Jianmin hosted a celebration banquet for the Chinese delegation at the consulate residence. At the banquet, Zhang Jianmin thoroughly learned about BEH’s current business development and the innovative achievements of the “Intelligent and Efficient Cleaning Robot for Photovoltaic Modules.” He highly praised the achievements of the Chinese delegation and encouraged its members to actively participate in international competitions, continue their efforts in technological innovation and international exchanges, and strive to achieve even better results in more international events.

Looking ahead, BEH will continue to shoulder the responsibility as a pioneer in industry innovation, promote global green energy development, and elevate “Intelligent Manufacturing in China” to new heights.
