On the morning of September 20, Beijing Energy Holding (BEH) and Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power held a signing ceremony and discussions regarding the Zhaoqing Project collaboration. Attendees included Jiang Fan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of BEH, Zhang Fengyang, Vice President, and Mohammad A. Abunayyan, Founder and Chairman of ACWA Power, as well as Li Ping, an independent director.
In the presence of the attendees, Zhang Ping, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beijing Energy International, and Lü Yunhe, Executive Vice President of ACWA Power and Presidnet for ACWA Power (China), signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. This marked the official launch of strategic cooperation between BEH and ACWA Power.
Jiang Fan congratulated the success of the signing and emphasized that with the rapid growth of China’s new energy market, there is immense demand and development potential in the sector. BEH, through Beijing Energy International, has been continuously expanding its presence in overseas markets. He expressed the hope that this signing would serve as a new starting point for both parties to deepen mutual trust, expand cooperation, and strengthen friendships, forming a more comprehensive, long-term, and stable partnership. By leveraging their respective strengths, the two companies aim to jointly explore both domestic and international new energy markets, engage in comprehensive, multi-level, and wide-ranging collaborations, build projects under the Belt and Road Initiative, and promote green energy development between China and Saudi Arabia.
Abunayyan remarked that BEH is an excellent strategic partner for ACWA Power. Since their first meeting, the collaboration has been exceptionally smooth, and BEH’s leadership and team professionalism are highly commendable. ACWA Power is honored to join hands with BEH. The signing of the Zhaoqing Project holds great significance, and ACWA Power is confident in the development prospects. In the future, ACWA Power will work closely with BEH in areas such as new energy and green hydrogen to create exemplary projects that will serve as leaders in innovation, writing a new chapter in China-Saudi cooperation.
