Time:2024-12-20

On December 18, Beijing Energy International was invited to attend the 2024 Annual Conference of the Northeast Asia Green Bunkering Fuel Supply Chain Alliance and became its member.

The alliance was established in April this year, jointly initiated by 11 organizations, including the Liaoning Provincial Department of Transportation, the Liaoning Maritime Safety Administration, and the China Classification Society. The alliance currently has 52 member organizations. It aims to promote the development of green shipping in the Northeast Asia region, strengthen cross-regional and cross-industry cooperation, optimize resource allocation, and advance the creation of a high-quality industrial ecosystem that integrates production and preparation, trade supply, transport and refueling, testing and certification, and finance and commerce. The alliance also works to develop policies, standards, and regulations for green bunkering fuels, reduce comprehensive logistics costs, ensure the safety of China’s green bunkering fuel supply chain, and serve as a new engine for the development of green bunkering fuels in Northeast Asia. By 2029, the alliance plans to establish development bases for emerging bunkering fuels, such as green methanol and green ammonia, to become the global low-cost green bunkering fuel production hub.

Joining the alliance is an acknowledgment and recognition of the company’s hydrogen-based energy development strategy, providing a strong platform for the company’s strategic layout of hydrogen-based energy in Northeast Asia’s near-port areas. Moving forward, the company will leverage the alliance platform, fully utilize its advantages, and strengthen collaboration with alliance members to jointly advance the construction of the Northeast Asia green bunkering fuel supply chain. It aims to make a greater contribution to promoting Liaoning’s green, high-quality development and supporting the revitalization of Northeast China in the new era.
