On May 16, the 2024 Annual Power Companies’ Social Responsibility and ESG Work Exchange Conference, organized by the China Electricity Council (CEC), was successfully held in Guangzhou. During the conference, the 2023 Outstanding Cases of Power Companies’ Social Responsibility were announced after going through multiple stages, including group recommendations, expert evaluations, and public reviews. Beijing Energy International’s case, “Green Guardians: Using Photovoltaic Power to Combat Desertification,” stood out and won the “2023 Outstanding Environmental Protection Case Award for Power Companies’ Social Responsibility.” 

The conference, themed “Developing New Quality Productive Force, Releasing New Energy for Social Responsibility,” focused on summarizing and promoting innovative theories and excellent practices in the social responsibility performance of power companies. It aimed to further spread the concept of corporate social responsibility (CSR), establish role models, explore innovations in CSR, and enhance the overall responsibility capability of the power industry.
