Hainan Suqu Agrophotovoltaic Demonstration Project in Tanmen Town, Qionghai City is the first grid-connected ground-mounted centralized photovoltaic project by Beijing Energy International in Hainan Province, marking a breakthrough for the company in the region. The project has a planned capacity of 100 megawatts and is a key project for Hainan Province from 2021 to 2023. This project is a standard agrophotovoltaic project, offering significant social, environmental, and economic benefits. Upon completion, it will produce approximately 140 million kilowatt-hours of clean green electricity annually, saving around 41,400 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 134,700 tons per year. Additionally, the project includes the construction of simple vegetable greenhouses, providing high-quality leafy vegetables to local community, thus enhancing local “vegetable basket” and promoting development of local area and the company itself. This endeavor also creates a new path for photovoltaic power enterprises to increase additional income and contributes to local low-carbon energy transition and the establishment of a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system in Hainan.
